Comment suggesting more violence after Suhas Shetty murder triggers police action

Mangaluru, May 3: In connection with the recent murder of Suhas Shetty under the jurisdiction of Bajpe police station, a disturbing comment posted on a live YouTube session of News 18 channel has led to a new case being registered.

A person using the username ‘Mr Silent Lvr’ commented, “Two days later, there will be another dead body in Mangaluru. It’s certain, especially from the people of Kodikere, Surathkal.” The comment was deemed provocative and threatening, especially in the backdrop of heightened tensions following the murder.

Based on this comment, a case has been registered at Barke police station. For further investigation, the case has now been handed over to the Mangaluru City CEN crime police station.

Following preliminary investigation, police have identified the accused as Sachin, approximately 25 years old, a resident of Surathkal, Mangaluru. He is believed to be the individual behind the comment on the live session. Further investigation is underway.
