Puttur, Apr 29: A tragic incident of a wild elephant attack has been reported near Perlampady, resulting in the death of a woman.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Kaniyaru, Perlampady.

According to reports, the woman was engaged in rubber tapping when a lone elephant attacked her. She was reportedly killed on the spot in the brutal assault.

Local sources confirmed that the elephant involved in the attack was solitary.

    Elephants stray onto the mainland when there is insufficient food in the forests. Hence, we must try to provide food to wild animals in the forests. Many African nations do that, and we must also do that so that animals don't kill innocent people who are working on farmland. I am very disturbed by the story!
