The commencement of the graduation ceremony featured a procession comprising graduating students, faculty, the esteemed chief guest, and management members.

Dr Devendrappa H, registrar (evaluation) of Mangalore University, graced the event as the chief guest.

Addressing the graduates, the chief guest said, “Graduation day marks a significant milestone in students’ life. This is an occasion for you which sets ready to embark on the noble path you have chosen. Your dedication, perseverance, and firm commitment to the field of education have brought you to this pivotal moment. You have spent two years honing your skills, nurturing your passion, and embracing the responsibilities that come with the noble profession of teaching. As you reflect on your time at St. Aloysius Institute of Education, I urge you to cherish the memories you've created, the friendships you've forged, and the knowledge you have acquired. Remember the lessons learned inside and outside the classroom, for they will serve you as guiding lights in your future endeavours. Graduation is not merely the culmination of academic pursuits; it is the commencement of a journey filled with endless possibilities and boundless opportunities to make a difference in your life. As you step into the realm of teaching, remember the profound impact you can have on the lives of your students. Teaching, most importantly, is about fostering curiosity, igniting passion, and nurturing growth. It is about instilling values, inspiring creativity, and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential. As educators, you have the responsibility to shape the future generation and to leave an indelible mark on society.”

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Praveen Martis SJ, the director of the institute, emphasized the core Jesuit educational values and commitment to principles deeply rooted in the Jesuit tradition of education which prioritize comprehensive growth, spiritual enrichment, and moral formation.

In the presidential addres Fr Melwyn Pinto SJ, rector – St Aloysius Institutions, said, “We are gathered here today to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students. Graduation day is not only a time to commemorate academic accomplishments but also an opportunity to reflect on the journey that has brought you to this point. I want to emphasize the profound importance of understanding the context of each child and demonstrating compassion in your roles as educators in your schools. Education is not simply about imparting knowledge; it is about understanding the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and challenges that our students bring with them to school. Every child who walks through your school doors has a unique story—a story of aspirations and struggles. As future teachers, it is your responsibility to take the time to understand these stories, to appreciate the context in which your students live and learn. By doing so, you can modify your approach to meet their individual needs and create meaningful learning experiences. You must also cultivate compassion in your interactions with your students. Compassion is the foundation of effective teaching - it is the ability to empathize, support, and uplift those who are in your care. It is about recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of every child and guiding them with patience, kindness, and understanding. As you undertake new chapter of your lives, I urge you to carry with you the lessons of empathy, understanding, and compassion that you have learned here to make the world a better place.”

During the event Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, was felicitated in recognition of his excellence leadership and exemplary service to education and his appointment as the first Vice Chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.

The event included annual report, certificate distribution, administration of an oath, a class valedictorian speech, honouring the toppers of the batch (2021-23) and releasing the 14th volume of college newsletter.
