Mangaluru, May 4: The international airport in the city received an email on April 29, addressed to the airport authority office, purportedly from terrorists, threatening that bombs had been planted at the airport. A complaint regarding this matter was registered at the Bajpe police station.

The email, purportedly from a terrorist, claimed that explosives had been placed within the airport premises in locations that are not easily detectable. It further stated, "I have also planted explosives in some aircraft. These will detonate within a few hours, resulting in widespread bloodshed. We anticipate numerous casualties. The group identified as 'Terrorizers 111' is responsible for this. This is not just a threat." The email threat was communicated in English.

Upon receiving the email, airport officials immediately alerted the police in Mangaluru. Following senior officers' instructions, a case regarding the threatening message was registered. The police had refrained from disclosing this information, maintaining confidentiality, while security at the airport was heightened in response.

Mangaluru International Airport along with over 30 other AAI and private airports received bomb threat on email on April 29. The email was sent to over 90 email IDs of airports and security agency CISF.
