Kasargod: High voter turnout in first hour of polling

Kasargod, Apr 26: Heavy voter turnout is noticed in the district in the first hour of polling. Around 22% polling is reported at 10.30 am.

Candidates of all parties cast their vote in the early morning itself. Congress candidate Raj Mohan Unnithan cast his vote at Padannakad SNTTI school, CPIM candidate M V Balakrishnan cast his vote at Kayikhode GUP school, BJP candidate M L Ashwin at Maneshwara Vanivijaya AUP school polling booth.

Polling got delayed at one polling booth each of Kanhangad and Perla due to technical problem in EVMs. In other places the polling is continuing peacefully. The polling will go on till 6 pm.

There are six candidates in the fray and 14,52,230 voters. As many as 1334 polling booths are set up for polling and 4561 personnel are deputed for carrying out polling duty.
