Byndoor, Apr 22: BJP candidate for the Shivamogga constituency, B Y Raghavendra, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responsible for providing reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies, while former Chief Minister Yediyurappa introduced reservation for women in gram panchayat and taluk panchayat elections. Raghavendra made these remarks while speaking at the Mandala Mahila Samavesha in Kirimanjeshwara. He further added, “PM Modi prioritized women by providing 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and legislative assemblies, whereas Yediyurappa ensured 50% reservation for women in gram panchayats and taluk panchayats.

"The state government is pursuing an anti-women policy. Voters should consider whether this government should be allowed to continue. Siddaramaiah, who promised to provide 10 kg of rice, is now only providing five kg. Congress is engaging in politics by spreading falsehoods. They claimed they would give Rs one lac to every young woman in India. However, with 60 million women in our country, this would require Rs 60 lac crore. Our national budget itself is only 45 lac crore. Even if only one woman per family were given Rs one lac, the total amount would be Rs 32 lac crore. Such false promises are made only to gain votes.

"PM Modi has ensured a peaceful and prosperous life for the poor by providing toilets to every household under the Swachh Bharat scheme, access to clean drinking water, LPG connections, and Ayushman cards for both BPL and APL card holders,” he said.

MLC Bharati Shetty, Dr Rajanandini, Gayatri Mallappa and Bhagirathi were present.

Sandalwood actress and BJP leader Shruthi remarked, “The state government, which offers free schemes to the poor merely for the sake of votes, is deceiving the voters. BJP takes pride in appointing a tribal woman as the President of India. CM Siddaramaiah's disparaging remarks about our President and PM Modi are unacceptable. Does he speak in a similar manner about Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi? Modi should be re-elected as PM for the betterment of India.”

"Gururaj Gantihole, MLA of Byndoor, expressed, “For comprehensive development of Byndoor, Raghavendra should once again become MP. He is needed as MP to ensure Varahi sweet water reaches the homes of Byndoor residents. The voters of the constituency will give Raghavendra more than one lac votes.”
