Udupi: Modi wave is missing, a time for change has come – Motamma

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD/EP)

Udupi, April 15: “The Modi wave does not work in the country. People have woken up. They wish for a change. People who face problems have come to know the reality. BJP also has come to know that lies do not sell,” said former minister Motamma.

Speaking during the Congress campaign meeting held at Mudigere, she said that BJP which was criticising the guarantees of Congress government is copying them now. “The fake goods of prime minister Narendra Modi are not getting sold in the market now. People have begun questioning and thinking. BJP is saying that the country will go bankrupt if the farmers loans are waived. Will the country not go bankrupt if it writes off Rs 11 lac crores loan of corporate capitalists?” she questioned.

Mudigere MLA Nayana Motamma said former chief minister Kumaraswamy said that women will get misled if they obtain guarantee schemes. “His statement is shameful and an insult to women of the state. Women of our state have visited temples and donated money in the boxes of offerings. They have received solace because of it. It is necessary to answer Kumaraswamy on the 26th of this month,” she said.

“People of Mudigere have supported Congress during the last Vidhana Sabha elections. Jayaprakash Hegde got an opportunity to serve in the past. But it was only for 20 months. But he has performed well. It is necessary to give him another chance. I will try my best to implement the state projects. Similarly, we need an able leader to bring projects from the centre. Jayaprakash Hegde can do it effectively. Therefore, it is necessary to elect him to improve our constituency,” she said.

Former MLA M P Kumaraswamy who left BJP and joined Congress said that the popularity of prime minister Narendra Modi has lost its luster. “Young party workers are deserting BJP and joining Congress. It is a good development. People need to support the Congress party considering the future of the country. Modi, who made Ambani and Adani wealthy has asked people to chant Rama Mantra. Unemployment is rampant in the country. Young people are devastated. People need to wake up before the situation turns disastrous,” he said.

Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde said the people have supported him earlier also. “I have performed and undertaken development work even during the short span of time. People welcome me with love, when I go to seek votes now. People have wished for change. It is inevitable to vote for Congress unanimously,” he said.

He held discussions with Mudigere Mudremane Coffee company proprietors. former minister Motamma, MLA Nayana Motamma, former MLA Shivashankar and other dignitaries were present.
