Mogaveera’s Association Kuwait conducts eighth annual general body meeting

Salmiya, Feb 5: The eighth annual general body meeting of Mogaveera’s Association Kuwait (MAK) was conducted at Artistic Yoga & Pilates Hall, Salmiya.

Amrith Raj Suvarna who was an excellent host for the day welcomed all the MAK members to this event, as it is a customary and traditional, the proceedings of the MAK AGM commenced with Kuwait & Indian National Anthem followed by a prayer song sung by baby Ashwitha Suvarna and Manoj Amin.

The lighting of the lamp was done by the MAK 2023 management committee, president Kishore Kotian, convenor Ramesh Kidiyoor, MAK former president Jaya Kotian and senior member Gopal Suvarna. 

 

The general secretary, Pundarika Kanchan read the annual report of the activities of the association for the year 2023. While the treasurer Lohith Karkera read out the financial report for the year, both of which were approved by the members.

Some of the major events of 2023 are as follows MAK organized its Sixth Indoor National level Volleyball & Throw Ball Tournament under the title of 'MAK Champion Trophy 2023' which was held on February 25th at American International School, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait.

MAK conducted Shri Ganesh Chaturthi programme for the first time on 22nd Sep at Yoga & Artistic Pilates Hall Salmiya. A soulful environment was created by Bhajan team headed by Suresh Salian and Santhosh Kunder along with other MAK members. Followed by pooja and arathi with prasadam. Delicious lunch was served.

As part of the welfare project

1). Scholarship of Rs 15000 was given to first three m,eritorious students of Mogaveera community of Mahalaksmi English Medium School. Navya S Suvarna-601(96.16%), Medhaa D-585(93.60%), nd Janmith S Kotian-563(90.08%).

2). Scholarship of Rs 15000 was given to first three meritorious students of Mogaveera community of Sagar Vidya Mandir, Beach Road, Padubidri.

President Kishore Kotian welcomed all the members and thanked everyone for their continued support during his tenure. He also assured that he would also support and work towards the betterment of the committee and requested everyone to provide continuous support even for the upcoming year.

The returning officer, Dinesh Suvarna announced the new managing committee for the year 2024.

The officer bearers for 2024 are as follows:

President               : Poonam Mendon, Bolar, Mangalore.
Vice President        : Pundarika Kanchan, Yermal Bada.
General Secretary  : Pooja Kanchan, Udyavara.
Treasurer              : Sudhakar Puthran, Kidiyoor.
Cultural Secretary  : Nishant Salian, Badanidiyoor, Kadike.
Sports Secretary    : Kavitha Kidiyoor, Kidiyoor.
P.R.O & Welfare Officer : Santhosh Kunder, Uppoor.

The management committee members introduced themselves, thanked and assured all the members for rendering their best service during their tenure.

Newly elected president, Poonam Mendon in her speech, thanked all the members for electing her as president for giving this opportunity. She urged all the members to be always united, provide continuous support, increase the visibility of the Association in Kuwait and take the association to the next level.

Executive committee of 20 members were announced by the president who are as follows: Sachidananda Suvarna, Suresh Salian, Dr Vikyath Boloor, Dinesh Suvarna, Kusum Girish, Kiran Kumar, Ranjitha Pundarika, Rakshith Suvarna, Rajesh Salian, Srinivas Puthran, Prashanth Kunder, Nithin Suvarna, Lakshmeesh Salian, Jeevan Amin, Lohith Karkera, Manoj Amin, Amrith Raj Suvarna, Nithesh Karkera, Laxman Ambiga and Smitha Lakshmeesh.

Below Welfare Projects would be continued as informed by the president:

-Death grant of Rs 1,00,000 in case of death of any active member, financial help will be provided to next of kin of the deceased

-Financial help (Health Grant) of Rs 25,000 will be given to the members in case of serious health issues or permanent disability or severe injury due to accident

- Merit cum means scholarship - Children of MAK members residing in Kuwait or India would be awarded scholarship of Rs 10,000 for 10th standard students & Rs 12,000 for 12th standard students.

Scholarship for Mogaveera Management School in India

President Poonam Mendon, also announced that scholarship of Rs 15,000 would be awarded to the first three meritorious students respectively for the year of 2023-2024, for the following schools of the Mogaveera community.

Mahalaksmi English Medium School, Uchila. And Sagar Vidya Mandir, Beach Road, Padubidri.

Convenor Ramesh Kidiyoor congratulated the new committee members and also urged everyone to get innovative and strengthen the members of the community in Kuwait and always be united.

Farewell was given to MAK former president Kishore Kotian and his wife Prathvini Kishore Kotian as they were leaving Kuwait for good. Good wishes were given to them from all the members.

Melodious songs were sung by Suresh Salian, Lohith Karkera, Jaya Kotian, Kishore Kotian, Sachidananda Suvarna, Dinesh Suvarna, Pundarika Kanchan and Purandara Manchi. As a part of entertainment programme, games were conducted by Suresh Salian to the members of MAK. Delicious food was served by Restaurant Shangri La, Salmiya. MAK Idol trophy was a tie between Pundarika Kanchan and Lohith Karkera. First runners was given to Purandara Manchi. Lucky Mogaveera Trophy for the lucky draw was got by Rohan Raj.

In her vote of thanks, Pooja Kanchan expressed her gratitude to each and every member who supported to make the event a successful one.
