Kuwait: Catholic community celebrates Candlemas

Kuwait, Feb 4: The feast of the Presentation of the Lord was celebrated across catholic churches in Kuwait.

The Catholic community in Kuwait joyously celebrated the feast of the presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas, on February 2. The feast masses were celebrated the Holy Family co- cathedral, St Therese Parish, Salmiya, and Our Lady of Arabia Church, Ahmadi respectively.

The feast, which marks the presentation of Jesus at the temple and the purification of Mary, is an occasion of great spiritual significance for the faithful. The feast of the presentation of the lord holds a special place in the hearts of Catholics, as it is the international day of consecrated life, as religious men and women renew their dedication to God in a spirit of commitment and life consecration, at the Holy Family co-cathedral, all religious, men and women, renewed their commitment during the mass in presence of the faithful.

The Catholic community in Kuwait came together to mark this important occasion with solemn masses. The solemn masses were celebrated with great reverence by the parish priests of the churches respectively. Prior to the mass celebrations, candles were blessed by the priests and later distributed to the congregation as a symbol of Jesus, the light of the world.

The Catholic churches in Kuwait are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this special feast and are thankful for the unity and faith of the community in coming together to honour the presentation of the Lord. The celebration was a testament to the resilience and unwavering faith of the Catholic faithful in Kuwait, who continue to find strength and comfort in their spiritual traditions.
