Doha: Our Lady of The Rosary Church celebrates feast of the Presentation of The Lord

Doha, Feb 4: Our Lady of The Rosary Church, Qatar celebrated the feast of the Presentation of The Lord on February 2. This feast is the international day of consecrated life, as religious men and women renew their dedication to God in a spirit of commitment and life consecration.
The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas, is an important feast in the liturgical calendar. It celebrates the presentation of the infant Jesus in the Temple by Mary and Joseph, forty days after his birth. This symbolic act of dedication holds deep spiritual meaning and serves as a reminder of the embracing love and faith of Jesus, who is the light of the world. The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord celebration offers a unique opportunity for the faithful to deepen their spiritual journey and partake in a true communion of prayer.

The festivities commenced with blessing of the candles, prior to the solemn high mass. The Holy Mass was celebrated with great reverence by the parish priests of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Fr Xavier D'Souza who led the congregation during the solemn masses. "Be the bearers and sharers of the the revelation of God in the person of Jesus Christ, the salvation of all," said Fr Xavier D'Souza in his homily.

The renewal for the dedication will be held on February 6. The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord at Our Lady of the Rosary Church was a momentous occasion where the catholic community came together to strengthen their faith, and took the opportunity for their reflection on faith.
