Mangaluru, May 31: A groom who was supposed to get married on June 1 at Varkadi, Thoudugoli, Konaje police station limits, is reportedly missing.

The missing person is identified as Kishan Shetty, son of entrepreneur Aithappa Shetty from Thoudugoli-Varkady Devendapadpu.

His parents were getting ready for mehendi which was supposed to take place at his home in the evening on May 30, but the groom who had gone to buy fruits did not return. It has made the families of the bride and bridegroom anxious.

Kishan was supposed to get married on June 1 to a professor from a family hailing from Uppala and staying at Jeppinamogaru at present.

The mehendi programme at the bride’s place was already over. All the preparations were made for the mehendi programme which was to be held at the groom’s home on Tuesday.

The groom left on his scooter in the afternoon to buy fruits. As per police sources, he was speaking to somebody on the mobile phone for about half an hour before he reached Deralakatte. The groom has not returned since then. As both the families are rich, the celebrations were expected to be on a large scale. But the missing of the groom has shocked them.

A case in this connection is registered at Konaje police station on the basis of a complaint frm the groom’s father.
