Mom, I Still Sense Your Presence

Mom, I still remember your smiling face,
Though your smiles were rare to see.
You smiled only occasionally,
And I thought you were strict and fair.
We waited at the door as you came home in a hurry,
With food tied gently in the pallu of your sari.
Your wise and silent lessons shaped our lives,
And your love carried us through the years.
You always put our needs before your own,
Never complaining through pain or strife.
With courage, grace, and endless care,
You gave meaning to our lives.
Just as a shell guards its treasure,
You cared for us and loved us well.
With your warm embrace and gentle care,
You protected us through every storm.
Though you are no longer by my side,
Your love remains my guiding light.
I still sense your presence every day,
In my prayers and the gentle breeze of night.
