UFOs & Aliens: Part 1

In acute distress, I shot an email to my Australian friend, Alan Mars
By a fluke or otherworldly hacking, it landed in the inbox of an alien on Mars
Email explained severe difficulties being faced with regard to cooking gas
All this is because man’s revengeful heart is constantly engaged in wars

That night, I heard some noise that was irritatingly unpleasant
I bolted out to the backyard only to encounter a glowing landed craft
Doors slid open of the flying saucer and an alien triumphantly alighted
He softly said, “Peace be with you, my brother. No harm intended”

Compassionate, scary-faced alien was very short and green-skinned
He swung his hand toward the spacecraft with a telepathic command
Instantly little robots marched out holding red LPG cylinders in each hand
Set them one by one on the green lawn and reverently bowed

Alien said, “Purify your hearts earthlings and love one another
To all your disagreements, the war is indeed a disastrous answer
Obliterate weapons of mass destruction and live in harmony forever
And save mankind from having to strike two stones to start fires”

At once, the Earth shook hard and I was awoken
I sat up and gazed around in bleary-eyed confusion
Brandishing a matchbox, my wife was standing tall and staring down
I couldn’t decide if it was a good or bad dream that brought me an alien

Wife Thelma said, “Sun is upon us and you’re oversleeping with no worries
The whole day is ahead of us for cooking sajjige bajil, rice and curries
Go out and gather plentiful firewood to stoke fires
War is still on and my stomach is growling with hunger pangs”
