A moment So Different
The day a life first glimpsed light,
A priceless treasure opened wide,
The cries rang high with shining joy,
And warmth held the newborn tight.
Down the corridor, beyond the door,
Death came quietly to claim its dues,
A feeble soul gasped for air,
And life surrendered in battle bare.
Innocence - delicate and tiny, wrapped in arms;
Wisdom - mighty and tall, cloaked by earth;
A sunrise to awaken the life that lies ahead,
And a sunset to honour the memories left behind.
This moment gives, this moment takes-
A blessing and a curse all the same!
The bustling world welcomes life,
And the quiet world beckons the fading light.
