A Modern Artist’s Timeless Tradition

Traditional Art is often a reflection of country’s culture and history. Though everything is turning digital, the trace of traditional art has survived due to its strong past base. Due to the advancements of technologies, the presence of traditional artists has become a testament to the everlasting power of human creativity. In an era where AI is making rapid advancements in the field of art and technology, an artist from Kannur, Kerala stands out by showcasing his diverse artworks. This was discovered at the exhibition held during the Laksha Deepotsava festival of Dharmasthala, where Sreejith Paravoor bought over 50 innovative pieces from Kannur capturing people’s attention and highlighting the significance of human created art.

Sreejith was not born as an artist nor he joined any classes. He started his journey of art in 2019. We all know how Covid pandemic hit the country badly, amid of all the challenges of Covid 19 pandemic, Sreejith found a creative outlet by dwelling into various forms of art. Battling depression, he discovered a passion towards unique painting techniques, including knife painting, acrylic, oil painting, bamboo painting and many more. These diverse artistic ideas not only provided him with therapeutic relief during his tough times, but also energized him to showcase his versatility in the filed of art.

In addition to his diverse form of arts, he is also well versed in interior designing, wood carvings and stone carvings which he sells through his personally owned firm- Art Villa. He is not only proficient in various artistic ventures, but also mastered in personally crafting the intrinsic frames which adds to the aesthetic charm of his paintings.

His artistic process is closely intertwined with his emotions. He engages in sketching based on the mood of the moment. He hardly uses any external references for his paintings. He always relies on the spontaneous flow of ideas from his mind to the canvas.

‘My love for painting is my inspiration, and the joy of trying new things drives me to give my best in every artwork’, says Sreejith.

However, Sreejith stands as a true testament to the presence of traditional art in this competitive generating trends. He proves that traditional art will never vanish, even if digital forms emerge. There are many such artists like Sreejith, who strive to preserve the essence of traditional art forms. All they need is the support from the people, as the rise of AI has somewhat diminished the value of genuine artists. Despite these challenges, individuals like Sreejith contribute to the sustainability of handmade arts over time.

Enfolding challenges and pursuing passions are essential in every youth. Success isn’t solely about overcoming the obstacles, but about maintaining constant determination towards any passion. With the strong desire to achieve, one may not succeed immediately, but they will undoubtedly find success in the long run.

Backing artist is the gift to creativity. Whether it’s attending their exhibitions, purchasing their work or spreading the word about their talent, every support fuels their passion. This support gives wings to their imagination. So, together let’s create a world where every piece of art adds something special to everyone’s lives.

  • The article / poem / short story should be original and previously unpublished in other websites except in the personal blog of the author. We will cross-check the originality of the article, and if found to be copied from another source in whole or in parts without appropriate acknowledgment, the submission will be rejected.
  • The author of the poem / article / short story should include a brief self-introduction limited to 500 characters and his/her recent picture (optional). Pictures relevant to the article may also be sent (optional), provided they are not bound by copyright. Travelogues should be sent along with relevant pictures not sourced from the Internet. Travelogues without relevant pictures will be rejected.
  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.
