There was a time when only serious issues related to the development of the country or of the state were being discussed either in the Parliament or in the Vidhana Sabha. The elected representatives of the common people took keen interest in these discussions and were bent upon getting some developmental reward for the constituency they represented. They went to the extent of protesting or going on a hunger strike to safeguard the interest of the people of their constituency. Every common man respected and revered not only his leader elect but also the houses where righteous discussions were going on. The reason for this is everyone treated the houses to be the holy places where the fate of the nation and the state was being decided.
Even a common man, when he spoke of his leader or the house he represented, had words of praise for the same. He knew and believed that his leader was an unsullied person who would uphold not only his dignity but also the dignity of the people he represented. He knew that his leader wouldn’t stretch his hand to grab the bribe money or loot the riches which was not his. Only such kind of person who had a spotless personality had a chance to win in the election. The person having only money and not a dignified personality could never dare to fight in the election. Everything was fair and sweet. When one thinks of that situation and tries to compare it with the present scenario, he has enough reasons to think that he had lived in heaven in those days and now in hell.
Do these people, our so called political representatives, have no shame at all? Do they have no conscience at all? Doesn’t their heart prick for what they do? How can they think of justifying what they have done and what they are doing? Do they think that they can fool all the people all the time?
Shame upon them. I feel disgusted to call those leaders who are involved in different scams our leaders. Scams after scams, a host of scams and still they are not satisfied or ashamed. A common man would have buried his head under the mud without being able to show his face to the public out of sheer degradation. Land scam, mining scam and now, God save us from this ignominy, sex scam. One will rape somebody, the other will sleep with somebody’s wife and now it has come to the extent of watching blue film inside the house when a serious discussion on drought is going on. Can there be another instance of such audacity. The leaders, who are supposed to defend and safeguard the honour and safety of the women when they are attacked by dreadful elements, engage themselves in watching porno clippings! How do we name this pervert obsession?
Already the common man is disgusted with whatever is going on around. He has not yet come out of the shock and blow of the land scam, mining scam, corruption and so on and so forth. Now another blow- blue film scam- has flung him on to the ground. He is seething within. God alone knows when the anger within him will burst and that will cause a tsunami of wrath. He is not blind to whatever is happening around. He knows that these leaders are not interested in his welfare. He has seen his leader attacking like a bull in the house for no reason. He has seen the house witnessing the most shameful behavior of his leaders. He has seen his leaders jumping parties. He knows the house is filled with corrupt and dishonest leaders.
The justification by the Government and the leaders is like adding insult to injury. Whatever it is- ruling party or the opposition- can such heinous act be justified? In the name of tourism you openly stage sex dances – and you call it promotion of tourism? You attack girls going to pubs which is legally permitted and youngsters celebrating the Valentine’s Day. How can you close your eyes to such rave parties? A group of friends was arrested in Mangalore for watching the clipping of a blue film in their mobile. Very good. Now the question is, “What will you do to the ministers who were caught red handed watching blue film in the Vidhana Sabha?
