Udupi, Sep 19: Udupi district Congress and block Mahila Congress jointly staged a protest in a unique manner by keeping gas cylinders and fire wood on hand pull cart in front of Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri against failures of the central and state government on Saturday, September 19.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) coordinator and former corporator Prathibha Kulai addressing at the protest alleged that the top leaders in the ruling party had been lying the citizens all these while making baseless promises.

"Politicians who occupy high positions in the ruling party are a liar factory. In that case what can be expected more from the MLAs and MPs. I believe that Modi is number one prime minister but he did nothing and still gets big applauds everywhere. He is the top leader and gets publicity by saying that he did everything all by himself. He could better join a drama company to perform. He is living his dreams. Modi has manipulated the young minds by his effective speech. No one knows when the 'Acche Din' will come and no one has seen that so far. We are facing and living the worse days ever," Pratibha said.

The number of harassment cases on women have been increasing after BJP came to power. Narendra Modi is the only Prime Minister who used military for his political purpose, she alleged.

“I will boycott corona without wearing mask. I distributed food to the beggars and needy during the lockdown but I did not get affected by virus,” she said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who never went to school has now got a good platform to perform to several characters through fancy dress. "Today he dressed up like Shivaji," Pratibha further said.

She said that youth unemployment in the country is on the rise but the Prime Minister does not care about it and no one has even been questioning.

Wars happened even during Indira Gandhi's period and it is nothing new at all. She had rather strengthened the military force. But the current Prime Minister is only taking chances in getting publicity. Modi made many promises but he did not keep any of his words. "BJP is playing games by focussing only on some subjects. But it is not a long lasting party at all. People have realized and they are not fools. They cannot fool them again," said Pratibha.

Geetha Vagle, district president Mahila Congress, Jyothi Hebbar, Veronic Cornolio, Roshni Oliver, Chandrika Shetty, Dr Sunitha Shetty, Vishwas Amin, Ramesh Kanchan, Bhaskar Rao Kediyur, Shashidar Shetty Ganesh Nergi and others were present.
