Bantwal rural police arrest theft accused, recover stolen vehicle

Bantwal, Sep 16: Bantwal rural police station personnel have arrested Kerala, Mangalpady resident Ashraf Ali following a suspicion on September 15 and recovered a two-wheeler stolen by him.    

Police personnel on rounds at night found a person at Polali bus stand, standing after parking a two-wheeler. He tried to flee when he saw the police jeep. Police personnel immediately caught and questioned him when he confessed about the two-wheeler stolen by him from Addoor.

Ashraf has several cases of thefts registered against him in Ullal, Konaje and other police stations. He was in jail in connection with a theft case and was released two weeks ago. However, he went back to stealing after being released from prison and was yet again caught by the rural police.



Bantwal rural station crime branch SI Sanjiva K, ASI Balakrishna, staff Janardhan, Suresh, Puneeth, Radhakrishna, Nazir and Manoj took part in the operation.
