Stating that with the demise of Punyanagari newsgroup founder-editor Murlidhar Shingote, an inspiring journey from a newspaper vendor to newsgroup owner has come to a standstill. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray offered his condolences by saying that Shingote's journey would be a guiding light for many.

In his condolence message, the chief minister has said that Shingote Baba was sincere and hardworking which is why he always pursued his aim of having his newspaper despite starting his journey after coming to Mumbai as a fruit seller, newspaper vendor. He was witness to the Samyukta Maharashtra movement. He used the language in his newspaper which was easy to understand for the common man which resulted in the expansion of his group.

It was only daily in Marathi which expanded to publish dailies in other languages too. I offered my condolences to senior editor Murlidhar Shingote whose career would guide many others and his demise has seen an end of an inspiring journey in the field of the news industry.
