Online admission facility for degree courses starts in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Aug 2: Students of Karnataka, who have passed second PU and are trying to get admitted to degree courses, need not go to the colleges physically. They can complete the admission process from their homes on online.

Department of College Education has come up with facility for students to apply for degree courses in government colleges from their mobile phones. The forms are available free of cost on online. If the students visit the website of the department, the link for applying for 2020-21 academic year is available.

On the website page, the integrated information of 430 government first grade colleges of the state of Karnataka is available under the option of online services on the homepage. Nearby to this option is the link for admission to 2020-21 academic year.

Separate link is provided on the website of college education https://dce.karnataka.gov.in. If the student clicks this a new window gets opened. There is one more option saying 'Click here for online admission application'. The student can click on this, enter his or her mobile phone number and start the application process. Once the student receives OTP on his or her mobile phone, the required documents can be filled from the mobile itself. All the details of the colleges and courses are available on the mobile itself. A person can apply for more than four colleges simultaneously. Once the student gets admitted to a particular college, the application forms of other colleges gets automatically deleted from the system.

Everyone who applied for admission in government colleges will get seat. Only if there are 15 or less students in a particular combination of subjects, then the students will be advised to opt for other combination of subjects. Even if the admission crosses the maximum limit, additional permission will be granted by the government. An official of the department said that the online application process has not only started but also made simple in order to increase the number of students to get admitted through online system.

Students, who cannot apply online for non-availability of internet or any other reason, can visit the colleges physically fill the application and get admitted to degree courses. The college authorities have to upload this information on the department website by logging in through their log in credentials.
