Coronavirus cases: Dakshina Kannada stands second in Karnataka after Bengaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 22: As per a report, Dakshina Kannada district is in second place after Bengaluru in the number of coronavirus infected.

While 34,743 people are infected in Bengaluru, the infection is found in 3,829 people in Dakshina Kannada district. There are 26,746 active cases in Bengaluru and 2,574 active cases in the district. While 720 people have succumbed to the virus in Bengaluru, 73 people have died due to the virus in the district.

The lockdown will be lifted in the district from July 23 and activities will once again begin. It is imperative for cautious to be exercised as the number of infected people is rising in the district. Masks need to be worn, social distancing maintained and the public needs to protect themselves from the virus.

There is no need for the district residents to be afraid just because the district is in the second spot in the number of positive cases and deaths. But it is essential to be careful. The public is requested to wear masks and stay safe.
