Mangaluru: Two more succumb to coronavirus, DK death toll rises to 12

Mangaluru, Jun 28: Two more deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the district on Sunday June 28.

One of the deceased is a 57-year-old woman from Bantwal while the other is a 31-year-old man of Idya in Suratkal.

While the Bantwal patient passed away in a private hospital in Mangaluru, the patient from Suratkal breathed his last in Wenlock.

With this, the total number of deaths in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 12.

As per the district health bulletin on Saturday June 27 evening, a total of 12,919 samples have been sent for tests till date, out of which 12,198 have turned out negative, and 576 positive, including 10 persons from other districts. Out of these, 148 are currently active. As many as 416 persons have recovered and been discharged.

    So sad to know about two more casualties .
    Can anyone disclose the mortality rate in DK due to corona ?Think its much higher compared to the infections .
    It’s unusual for 31 year old to succumb .
