14 fresh coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada, 10 in Udupi on May 31

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 31: The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Sunday May 31 together recorded 24 fresh cases of coronavirus.

While 14 new cases are reported in Dakshina Kannada, 10 are reported in Udupi district.

Among the 14 cases in Dakshina Kannada, 9 are persons who returned recently from Maharashtra, while three others are contacts of another patient P-2287, a resident of Kenjar who also arrived from Maharashtra a few days ago.

The Maharashtra returnees include seven males aged 27, 52, 44, 30, 40, 38 and 43, and two women aged 35 and 38.

Among the others are a 42-year-old male who arrived from Malaysia to the city, and a 50-year-old man who came from Doha.

All of them have been admitted to Wenlock hospital. With this, the total number of cases so far in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 127.

In Udupi, among the 10 new patients, 9 returned from Maharashtra recently, and one from Doha, Qatar. The patients include eight males aged 30, 32, 62, 24, 31, 36 and 45, a seven-year-old girl, and two women aged 31 and 42. Among them, the 31-year-old man Doha.

With this, the total number of active cases in Udupi has risen to 122.
