Bantwal: Assault on boy, life threat - Case against four

Bantwal, May 29: A case stands registered against four persons including a Bajrang Dal activist, on the charge of scolding a boy with derogatory words, beating him up and also posing life threat, at Vittal police station.

Dinesh, a Bajrang Dal leader from Kanyana, two 16-year-olds from Kolnadu village, and a 17-year-old from Kanyana have been accused of the assault and life threat. The boy who was targeted by the gang happens to be a first PU student from Kudtamugeru.

Besides intercepting the boy, the gang had derided him with abusive words, posed life threat, apart from forcing him to get seated on a motor bike on which he was taken to the ground of Kadumath high school where he was attacked and threatened to be killed, it is said. Besides, the victim was forced to chant the words, 'Jai Sriram' besides robbing the money found in his pocket, the boy said in the complaint.

As the gang had threatened him, the boy had not informed anyone about this attack. After a video recorded by the accused was shared in social media on Wednesday, the boy filed complaint at Vittal police station.

Investigation is undertaken by Bantwal traffic sub-inspector Rajesh K V and DCIB police inspector Cheluvaraj, under the directions of deputy superintendent of police Valentine D'Souza, circle inspector T D Nagaraj, and guidance of district superintendent of police Dr Laxmi Prasad.
