Mangaluru: DC instructs airport authorities to strictly follow new SOP for domestic fliers

Mangaluru, May 23: The deputy commissioner has issued a circular to the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) strictly mandating the airport authorities adhere to the various steps as per the guidelines provided by the state government. A new standard operating procedure (SOP) was issued by the state government with connection to arrival of inter-state passengers in Karnataka.

The guidelines states that people coming from high risk states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will be subjected to seven days of institutional quarantine followed by seven days of home quarantine. Test would be conducted on the fifth and seventh day. Those arriving from other states will be subjected to 14 days of home quarantine.

All passengers must compulsorily obtain e-pass which can be downloaded from Seva Sindhu portal of the state government.

Other guidelines provided include immediate tests for pregnant women, children, and senior citizens 80 years and above, and terminally ill patients, businessmen arriving with negative test reports two days prior to the date of travel can exempt themselves from quarantine, medical professionals will have to undergo 14 days of home quarantine, 14 days of institutional quarantine for defence, para-military, railways, DRDO, ISRO and PSUs and home quarantine of 14 days in rural areas for those staying in their farm houses.

The guidelines are issued keeping in view the spread of coronavirus across the country and the essence to take adequate preventive measures to stop the spread of the virus.

    Just read the headlines ..if you use arogya setu app ..you are exempt from the Institutional Quarantine.

    If you are coming for business trip, with less than 5 days of Stay... Go for Covid-19 test today itself, so that you can get the Negative test report by 26th.

    Otherwise, you will be put into Institutional Quarantine as you are coming from High risk state.
