Dubai, May 21: Earlier, a Bloomberg report claiming that the emirate's hospitality business was being majorly affected amid the pandemic had surfaced. However, Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has come forward and denied such claims.

A spokesperson for the department said, "Dubai's hospitality businesses are resuming operations based on government-issued reopening guidelines during this pandemic. The emirate's hotel sector is healthy and this prudent approach prepares the industry for an even stronger resurgence post-COVID-19."

"Guided by the expert advice of our team of advisors, we have been gradually restarting various economic sectors and services across the city, to ensure continued economic resilience. The health and well-being of our people and all of Dubai's communities will remain our first and foremost priority," the spokesperson was quoted in a report by the Khaleej Times.
