Moodbidri: Nrityagrama Artistes, Musicians, Put up Spectacular Show at ‘Alva’s Virasat-2010’

Moodbiri, Jan 8: Music lovers were in for a treat on the third day of ‘Alva’s Virasat-2010’ at Shobavana in Mijar on Friday January 8 with a fusion of sitar and flute music in a spectacular combination of the north and the south in a special ‘Jugalbandhi’.
The programme witnessed by thousands of music lovers, had Kolkata-based sitar player Pt Purbayan Chatterjee, and flutist from the state Suramani Praveen Godkindi performing melodious compositions. Every minute of their performance was enjoyed by the audience.
The Jugalbandi was accompanied by Keith Peters on bass guitar, Arun Kumar on drums, Joheb Hussain on keyboard, and Satyajith Talwalkar on ‘Tabla’.
In the second programme called ‘Prathima’, artists from Nrityagrama, Bangalore, presented a dance performance. They staged various dances choreographed in the Indian classical dance styles. Nrityagrama was founded by popular Odissi dancer late Protima Gouri.
Samanth Shetty, Anil, and Salil Padmanabha, bodybuilders of Alva’s College, put up a show between the two programmes. The bodybuilders are achievers who have won gold medals and ‘Mr India’ awards.
