Puttur: Gas tanker topples at Nelyadi, no major casualties

Puttur, Apr 9: A gas tanker moving from Mangaluru towards Bengaluru toppled at Nelyadi, near Shiradi on national highway 75 on Thursday, April 9.

The driver escaped with minor injuries in the accident. No gas leakage was reported from the tanker.

The place of accident falls under Uppinangady police station limits.

It may be recalled, around 7 years ago on this very day, a similar accident occurred near Perne where nine people lost their lives.

    There are so many cases of gas tankers toppling in this particular area. This is due to driving at over speed where there are sharp curves. If stringent action is taken against these drivers and the owners, then only this can be stopped

    Such big vehicles toppling is just crazy...i think its due to negligent driving...roads are also free because of lockdown
