SJVNL gives Rs 1 crore to Himachal to fight COVID-19


Shimla, Mar 26 (IANS): Public sector hydropower major Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) on Thursday announced to give Rs 1 crore to the Himachal Pradesh government to strengthen its hospitals to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

SJVNL Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said the amount would be used to procure six ventilators by Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital in Shimla, five ventilators by Dr Rajender Prasad Medical College in Tanda and some ventilators in Rampur hospital at Khaneri in Shimla district.

The SJVNL will also extend financial support to provide other essential items like masks, sanitisers and gloves to them.

In addition, employees of the company have contributed Rs 25 lakh to fight against COVID-19.
