Mangaluru: Inter-collegiate women entrepreneurial workshop held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Feb 15: The Entrepreneurship Development Forum (EDF) and Women’s Cell of St Agnes College (Autonomous), here on Friday February 14 organized a one-day inter-collegiate workshop on 'Women Entrepreneurs – Prospects and Challenges' 2020.

The workshop began with blessings of the Almighty and a creative and an innovative inaugural by Sr Dr Jeswina AC, principal of St Agnes College. Jc Tanuja Maben, director, Forrader Akademi, Proprietress, Basil Cafe, was the chief guest for the programme. Jc Tanuja Maben addressed the budding entrepreneurs on 3D’s Dream, Decision and Destiny and to lead life out of imagination also stating that one needs to be motivated to follow his/her passion, take risks and fulfil dreams.



Dr Devi Prabha Alva, the convenor of the EDF and the workshop oriented about the day's workshop and motivated the gathering to make use of the input gained from it.

Sr Dr M Jeswina AC in her presidential remarks addressed the students to lead a harmonious life and emphasized on developing various qualities and skills to become a successful entrepreneur. She also pointed out that our mother is the greatest role model.

Prima D’Souza, convenor Women’s cell, Aaisha and Sagarika, the student secretaries were the other dignitaries present on the dais.

The beneficiaries of the workshop were 152 members consisting of EDF Forum, Women’s Cell and other associations of St Agnes College and students from 11 colleges of Mangalore University.

The workshop had four technical sessions on entrepreneurship. Technical session I was conducted by Tushara Ashok of II BCom from the EDF forum who interviewed Jc Tanuja Maben and brought out various stimulating entrepreneurial attitudes.

Technical session II was conducted by Teena Santosh of II BCom and Pravalika of I BCom from the EDF forum who interviewed Tm Sapna Shenoy, personal investment advisor and Tm Anjana Kamath, proprietress, Hakuna Matata Club. Tm Sapna Shenoy explained the importance on Financial Planning. Tm Anjana Kamath stressed on not to consider success to be a destination, but a journey.

Shruthi G K explained the financial scheme of MSME Government of India and Sumana Ghate on financial assistance from the bank during the Technical session III.

Technical session IV was held in the afternoon by Sachitha Nandagopal, founder, Anveshanam, Centre of Mindfulness and Emotional wellbeing. The session was carried forward by conducting various activities to increase concentration, self consciousness and relaxing techniques.

The workshop ended at 4 pm with an informal valedictory by collecting feedback from the participants and distribution of certificates of participation.
