Mangaluru: Roopesh Shetty’s next Tulu film ‘Circus’ announced

Mangaluru, Feb 7: ‘Girgit’ film team that is shining in Tulu film industry and celebrated 150 days has come forward to produce ‘Circus’ film that will start rolling soon.

Director Roopesh Shetty announced the title of new film on Wednesday saying that most of the artistes and technicians who were in Girgit film will be in ‘Circus’.

There are high expectations from the new film as the team which broke record in Tulu film industry will be involved in it.

The team had plans to produce ‘Girgit-2’ film earlier, but have given up those plans and decided to make ‘Circus’.

As Roopesh who will be directing the film is preoccupied in Kannada film, the new tulu film will hit the set in April or May.

Senior actor Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Byloor, Umesh Mijar, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu and other artistes which filled ‘Girgit’ film with life in the country and abroad will be in the new film.

Roopesh said that ‘Girgit’ film has written new chapter in coastalwood. “It has received good response in the country and abroad. It was shown in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bengaluru, Shivamogga and several other places. Several people had urged to make ‘Girgit-2’ film. Our team also was eager to make a new film. Therefore, we took a decision and fixed the title of ‘Circus’," he said.

“We want the release of this film to be in this year. I have got an opportunity to act in big budget Kannada film of Shailendra Babu now. Bhavana Menon has acted in the film. The shooting of its first phase is completed. The shooting of its second phase is in progress. Circus film will be shot after completing the Kannada film. The Girgit film troupe will be in Circus also,” he said.
