Mulky, Dec 15: A woman was murdered at her residence in Parankila, Shimantoor in Mulky here late night on Saturday December 14. The incident came to light on Sunday December 15.

The deceased has been identified as Sharada Shetty (70).

Tukaram Shetty alias Boggu (54) of Shimantoor has been arrested in the case.

It is gathered that after committing the murder, the accused dragged her body out of the house tried to throw her into a nearby well, but did not succeed. The body was found beside the well with the head crushed.

Speaking to the media, police commissioner Dr P S Harsha said that Sharada was living alone in her house. Her husband had passed away a long time ago and her only daughter is staying in Mumbai.

The accused Tukaram was doing some civil work in front of Sharada's house. "Differences arose over payment between Sharada and Tukaram. Out of grudge, Tukaram got hold of an iron rod and attacked Sharada and killed her," the police commissioner said.

The accused has been booked for murder and destruction of evidence.

Soon after receiving news of the murder, the police formed three teams headed by DCP (crime) and ACP Srinivas Gowda. The police succeeded in arresting the accused in just 8 hours.

It had earlier been suspected that thieves had broken into Sharada's house and assaulted her. However, with the arrest of Tukaram, the police have solved the case.

Of late, it looks like, rapes & burning the rape victims; murders and hacking to death own family member, cow thefts and lynching, black marketers, class & creed discrimination etc. are at rampant all over India. Peoples mind set has become restless including the politicians.

Karnataka was so good, is now turning bad to worse.
Except for UP, Bihar, Jharkand, Delhi and to some extend M.P. other Indian state people were far better.
You go to Himachal Pradesh, North East including Assam! People are so kind and make you feel safe. You never feel threatened!
Why are our people worsening? It's high time moral values are given importance everywhere!

India under Modi' government has gone topsy-turvy.
Nothing seems to be going on proper path. What is wrong ?
Whatever schemes he implements faces with bad consequences.
Now we have to wait and see about recent NRC/CAB introduction.

Rising unemployment will make people to murder.....?
    I don't agree for this...

Lot lots of employments are available in agricultural sector...
A good unemployed person in the worst case can take up agriculture work, not murdering.
A bad person, even if he has employment, will murder someone...
