Mangaluru, Dec 12: A group singing competition for youth was held at the school grounds of Nithyadar church here, as part of the year of the youth. Mangaluru diocese called on to celebrate the previous year as the year of the youth. A programme was held every month in the church.

The group singing competition was held for boys and girls in December.

Parish priest, Fr Elias D’Souza released balloons into the sky and inaugurated the programme. He said that programmes such as these, help to bring out the talents in the youth. While congratulating the youth who participated in the competition, he said that their contribution is needed all the more for the all-round development of the church.

Former church priest, Fr Denis Suares, zonal youth director and Bola church priest Fr Michael D’Souza, Permannur church vice-president, Melwin D’Souza and others were present. More than 50 boys and girls participated in the programme.
