Bengaluru: Murderous attack on Tanveer Sait - Government mulling to ban SDPI?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 21: The incident of attack on Tanveer Sait is gaining political hue with each passing day. Several Congress leaders have called upon the BJP not to politicize the issue.

There is a notion that either Popular Front of India or SDPI are behind the said attack. There are also rumours that the government may think in terms of recommending to the central government to ban these organizations.

Speaking on the issue, state revenue minister, R Ashok, said that the desirability of recommending to the centre to ban SDPI is under consideration and that the home minister has already held consultations with officials in this regard. "A decision will be taken soon. The issue will be discussed with the union home minister. BJP is running both state and central governments and there is a plan to ban the said organization," he said.

Ashok said that there were several allegations against SDPI even in the past but when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister, the cases were withdrawn.

In the meanwhile, senior Congress leader V S Ugrappa, charged the BJP government of forgetting its duty to provide protection to people's representatives. He charged chief minister, Yediyurappa, of trying to reap political benefit out of the attack on senior leader Tanveer Sait. He accused the BJP government of covering up its failure in providing protection by blaming it on Siddaramaiah, as the BJP is jealous of the former chief minister's popularity.

Kannada and culture minister, C T Ravi, said that a group of Congress leaders is backing SDPI. He felt that there is no need to have soft corner about this organization. He felt that it is a serious issue if this organization is behind attack on Tanveer Sait, and felt that sources of finance for these organizations should be found out and probed.

I am not the supporter of SDPI but it looks not fair.... The accused is a member of SDPI and he is not SDPI. If party will be held accountable for the crime of its member then none of the political party can remain...

Congress and BJP have several criminals in the party,....... whom to ban ?

He may or may not be SDPI or PFI activist. His motive might be different. Punish him for his mistake. But just thinking to ban SDPI and PFI is not right. Its BJP gimmik. They always against Islam. If they ban SDPI and PFI then they have to ban Bajrang Dal as well beacuse many of its activists are proved to be murderers.

When criminals, murders, terrorists get elected to lead us/rule us, anything can happen.
Just today there was a news that a terror accused got elevated to member in defense panel. Even the TADI PAAR people are rulers of our country.

Congress would be happy if SDPI is banned as they are splitting their votes in DK. I guess PFI is more dangerous and needs to be ban'd , not SDPI. I have not heard much of violence from SDPI, just some random here and there.
