Bantwal: Infant Jesus Church Modankap celebrates splendid silver jubilee of SCC

Bantwal, Nov 20: Parishioners of Infant Jesus Church, Modankap, celebrated the silver jubilee of SCC with great zeal and vigour.

The day began with an offering of eucharistic celebration in the morning. The celebrant priests were Msgr Lawrence Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangaluru diocese, Fr Jochim Fernandes, director of SCC, Mangaluru diocese, Fr Valerian D'Souza, parish priest, Fr Ashwin Crasta, assistant parish priest, Fr Peter Noronha and Fr steevan Lobo.

After the eucharistic celebration, all the parishioners gathered at the church premises. The event began with a formal stage programme wherein the gurkar of various wards who have served more than ten years were felicitated.



Prizes were given to the winners of various competitions conducted on the occasion of Community Day.

The stage programme was followed by a cultural programme performed by the parishioners mainly depicting Christian culture and Christian Community. The special attraction of the programme was the exhibition of old household and other items arranged by the ICYM members.

Sandeep Menezes, vice-president, Parish council welcomed the gathering. Richard D'Souza, secretary, parish council conveyed the vote of thanks. Kumari Helen Frank, convenor, Small Christian Community presented the annual report. The programme was followed by a fellowship meal.
