Bengaluru: Women gets five years imprisonment for straying, overstaying in India

Bengaluru, Nov 20: A Bangladeshi woman who illegally entered India without any passport and visa and stayed here without authorization, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the 57th city civil and sessions court here. The woman who has been sentenced is Khadeeja, a citizen of Bangladesh.

The judge who conducted hearing in the case found that the chargers of illegal stay and entering the country without valid visa and passport are illegal acts. The court also ordered to deport her after she completes her period of sentence here.

Khadeeja is a native of Muniramlpura in Josar district, Bangladesh. She was found to be residing within the limits of Basaveshwar Nagar police station here without authorization. The police who came to know about her, asked her to provide documents to prove that she is an Indian, but she failed to do so.

The police who registered the case, during investigation, came to know that she was from, Bangladesh. The police thereafter filed charge sheet backed by proper evidences. The judge, who conducted hearing and went through documents, came to the conclusion that the lady was guilty of the offences stated in the charge sheet.
