The catch was confirmed by Sanjai Mohan, principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife). He said that the teams were able to tranquilize the tigress at around 2 pm on Sunday, October 13. It will be taken in a cage to the Mysuru Zoo where it will be rehabilitated.

According to an eyewitness, one team among the five, tranquilized the tigress and the animal is in an unconscious state as of now. It was captured within the limits of Maguvanahalli inside the Bandipur National Park, which is a heavily forested area.

"As the team which has tranquilized the tigress is in deep forest it is not possible to have clear communication but it is confirmed that the tigress is caught and is being transferred to a cage in order to transport it," said Sanjai Mohan.

It was a herculean task by the forest department as it deployed 140 camera traps, six elephants, drones and 150 men for this operation. This tigress is alleged to have killed two farmers in the month of September and one so far in the month of October.

Endangered Species of animals need to be protected and multiplied for our next generations to enjoy..otherwise, these will be etict by denudation of Forests and cutting down Forests.
next generation will only see Tigers on books and archives like the Dinosaurus..
Its time for the state to set up Veterinary hospitals.. and clinics near the forest areas.. and start breeding these species of plants and animals in help with the University of Agricultural Sciences and labs...
and multiply them and let them back to nature like PANDAS of china.

Now we have so many criminals in the prisons all over India. Kindly release them as a food for tigers and lions instead of feeding them for no reasons

We have at one end stake of innocent villagers and other end protecting wildlife too. So uncontrolled developments of civilized society made forest encroachments and that lead to wild life like Tigers, Elephants, Leopard etc entering human territory. It is the concerned departments who are responsible not Tiger or villagers.
I think we must responsibly comment and show maturity.
