Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SB)

Bangalore, July 26: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs S Suresh Kumar on Saturday July 25 said that it has been planned to place before the cabinet a proposal to completely ban alcohol in the state.

Speaking at a programme organized to commemorate A T Babu, who had taken up anti-alcohol drive, minister said that though alcohol consumption is limited to a section of the society, the numbers of people who consume alcohol have increased manifold. Government does not have any intention to distribute beers with ban at present on arrack and to justify that there is no such intention, a proposal urging complete ban on alcohol will placed before the cabinet, he said.

Though few of the sections might face injustice due to complete ban of alcohol, the women will definitely be a happier lot, he observed.
