Kuwait: Amigos, St Christopher, Holy Spirit continue unbeaten run

Kuwait, Sep 11: Amigos de Jardine, St Christopher, and Holy Spirit continued their unbeaten run in the Goan Football League with impressive games played at Daiya Grounds.

At the end of 6 rounds Holy Spirit reign supreme in Group A while in Group B, St Christopher FC are on top.

Results of matches played on September 6 are as follows:

Group – A

Holy Spirit Margao beat St Rita Maina - 2-0. Richard Rodrigues scored a brace for Holy Spirit.

Richard was later adjudged man of the match, he was awarded at the hands of Lourdine Rodrigues.

Pasha Boys ran riot against Navelim Stars with a 7-1 victory. Manuel D’Costa scored a hat-trick while Shawn Rodrigues – 2, Noel – 1, and Vaman – 1 were on the scoresheet. Xavier Souza pulled one back for Navelim Stars.

Shawn Rodrigues of Pasha Boys won the man the match award presented by Nicholas Rodrigues.

Capxem Boys beat Miracles SC by 3-1. Melwin Fernandes – 2, Regan Fernandes – 1 scored for Capxem Boys while Siddharth – 1 scored for Miracles SC.

Joel Cruz of Capxem Boys was adjudged man of the match handed over by Ms. Nicole.

Group – B

Goa Striker drew with CRC Chnichinim 1 -1. Steevan Rodrigues -1 scored for Goa Strikers while Zeon Paul Fernandes – 1 scored for CRC.

Conrad Pinto of Goa Strikers won man of the match award presented by Maria.

Le Blues beat Dynamos 5 – 2.

Elton Periera scored a hat-trick while Samson-1, Anthony Fernandes – 1 scored for Le Blues; Darwin Cruz -2 scored for Dynamos.

Elton Pereira of Le Blues was awarded man of the match presented by Seby Mascarenhas.

St. Christopher FC drew with Amigos de Jardine 0-0.

Goa Football League

The innovative idea of the league is conceptualized by Manuel D’ Costa and Austine Abreo.

This is probably the first time in history that an association has come forward to organize a league for Goans.

The league promises to bring Goans together in Kuwait although the weather may not be too promising for competitive football or attract spectators with summer temperatures in Kuwait being the hottest in the world.
