Police raid illegal rave parties in Bengaluru - 175 arrested

Bengaluru, Aug 25: City Crime Branch (CCB) police of the city raided illegal rave party that was going on in the city on the late night of Saturday, August 24. 

More than 50 police personnel under the leadership of CCB joint police commissioner Sandeep Patil raided R J Royals Hotel situated near Mahalakshmi Layout in the city. 150 people, including 50 foreign nationals were arrested during the raid. 

The party was going on till 4 am in the early morning of Sunday, August 25. The CCB police were looking into the use of drugs during the party. A case in this regard stands registered in the Mahalakshmi Layout police station. 

In another incident police raided Bychance Bar and Restaurant of Ashoknagar in the city on the accusation of playing songs and allowing the customers to dance. The loud speakers were kept at full volume and dance was going on in full swing. 25 persons including the owner of the hotel, manager and customers were arrested. A case in this regard stands registered in Ashoknagar police station of the city.

    I do not understand the logic behind arresting customers in a public hotel....!!!!!????? Whether party is legal or illegal in a public hotel, customers must not be arrested...!!!!????

    We wont allow western culture full fledge in our state. NIGHT 7 to 12 allocated time for human beings. After 12 to 4 it's time of unseen devils. We do not want people disturb them the most at this hour. Let them enjoy there privacy fully provided by god. Whole night dancing is not at all our culture by inhaling various types of drugs. If to do entertain dance in an group decently...play dandiya-raas...perform bharat natyam, khatkali, kuchipudi and many ways of dancing available. What done by authorites is absolutely right. Put all of them behind for a week and release with a strict warning. For girls/womens handover them when some one from there home visit to receive them. Really disgusting. Where we lead. People are telling there is no job..economy is down..liquor price rise...from how this people manage.

    Westerners should follow Indian culture and do Bharath Natya, Kuchupudi, dandiya etc. They don't have to know the dance....just by walking on the street during the rush traffic hours they will learn the dance.

    Mr Nitin, Our life is influenced and governed by western culture, lifestyle, comforts, science and technology. In this age you cannot stay isolated and say "I'm Indian and live as per Indian culture". You will be left out and living in the past. Easy to blame western culture but difficult to stay away from everything. It's in your hands whether to make good use or mis-use.
