Mangaluru: SCDCC bank to hold discussion on irrigation system on August 27

Mangaluru, Aug 22: “The discussion programme with the SCDCC bank representatives, who had been to Israel to study the implementation of micro irrigation system for crops and felicitation of President of SCDCC bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar will be held at SCDCC bank head office on August 27,” informed director of SCDCC bank Devi Prasad Shetty.

Addressing media here on Thursday, August 22, Devi Prasad Shetty said,” For the first time a district cooperative bank sent its cooperative members on a study visit to Israel. The team included representatives from 26 cooperative societies. The visit was meant to help farmers of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to overcome the water crisis in the coming years for both agricultural and horticulture crops.


“The team visited Israel from June 20 to June 26. A discussion on their findings will be held on August 27 at the SCDCC bank head office. At the same time president of SCDCC bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar will be felicitated,” said Devi Prasad Shetty.

“Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Mangalore university vice-chancellor Dr P S Yadapadithaya, Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyas Kamath will grace the occasion,” said Devi Prasad Shetty.
