Abu Dhabi, Aug 22: The Abu Dhabi Police, on Wednesday, posted a video on Instagram, showing a young Emirati motorist mindlessly driving through the wrong way at the roundabout and forcing his way over a neat patch of grass at the centre.

The Emirati youth seen in the video was booked for reckless driving and the public prosecution sentenced him to do community service. In the second half of the same video, the man can be seen scrubbing the road, digging up ground at the centre island and planting some greenery that could replace those he had destroyed.

As reported in Khaleej Times, the Abu Dhabi Police through the video wanted to convey a message, that all motorists who break traffic rules shall be punished according to the law.

The fine imposed for violations such as drifting, hiding plate numbers or changing them, modifying vehicles, endangering others' safety or damaging public or private property are punishable by a fine of Dh 2,000, 23 traffic points and a 60-day vehicle impoundment and also community service can also be part of the punishment.
