Diagnosis for Congress ‘poor show’ in polls: JD(S) plus 4 reasons

Bengaluru, Jun 27: Now, the Congress party has come out with its own diagnosis for the ‘poor show’ in the Lok Sabha polls and has identified five reasons, the first of which being the alliance with JD(S).

Yes, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who is the party in-charge for Karnataka, has come out with these facts at a day-long introspection session at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, who is heads the coordination committee of the Congress-JD(S) alliance in the State, as well as KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and other party leaders were present in the introspection session held at the Congress Bhavan under Venugopal’s chairmanship.

In the meeting, Venugopal sought details from each parliamentary constituency and listed five major reasons for the party’s drubbing in the elections.

Reasons for Congress party’s defeat are:

* Internal differences within the Congress,
* Failure of the party MLAs to secure lead to the party candidates in constituency they represented,
* Negative image of the coalition government headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, alliance with the JD (S), and
* Inability of the State leadership to effectively counter the ‘Modi wave’ during the campaign.

The leaders argued that the negative image of the party had caused defeat of the Congress in at least 4-5 constituencies in the State.

The party leaders felt that “back stabbing by the JD(S) leaders” in some of the constituencies was a major factor for the party’s defeat.

The Congress leaders felt the party would have fared much better in the State if it had faced the elections separately. They also contended that the JD(S) did not transfer its votes to Congress candidates and additionally resulted in erosion of its support base.

The defeated party candidates in the general elections attended the meeting.

I really feel sad. Cong has shot its own legs in the State. They alligned with JDS which is the biggest mistake in the long run and is evident now. A sleeping party not known to many is literally ruling Ktaka with only 37 seats. Many of the JDS party cadres and their children have used this coalition as a platform to launch their political careers. Prajwal Revanna is the biggest example. He is in Delhi today as a MP. HDK launched his son in movies and politics at the same time. HDKs wife too won elections and is a RS member. Victorious and capable Congi candidates have been shown the door and rested. The followers & supporters of Cong have been given a chewing gum called 'EVM' to chew till next elections. The BJP is laughing as both JDS and Cong are in a self destructive mode.

These leaders are afraid to utter the real reason is Pappu Rahul Gandhi. People are dread to think Him as our P M. people heard his speechs only for comical value rather than real valve. Projecting Modi as Chor he distanced voters. Arrogance of Siddu also added to defeat.

TRY TO COME OUT OF COMA STAGE AND THINK OF VOTERS ONCE.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE VOTERS AS FOOLS TO DANCE YOUR TUNES .

YOU DON'T HAVE THE SORT OF ATTACHMENT A VOTER HAS WITH THE PARTY AND SIMPLY KEEP ON CHANGING AS OPPORTUNISTS.

WHAT IS THE NEED OF TWO SO CALLED SECULAR PARTIES WITH THE SAME GOAL AND THE REAL SECULAR WILL NEVER SAY BUT KEEPS DOING.

The defeated candidates attended the meeting - true. Had they won they would have been in limeligt for wrong reasons and damaged the Party further.

LEARN FROM BJP HOW DECIPLINED THEY ARE.

For Congress Party patrons, the present day haggling for power and selfish motives of many of the elected leaders also a disappointment.

At the moment there is very little to sing the glory of Congress.

    CHANGE SOON FOR THE BETTER.
