Madikeri, Jun 25: In a tragic incident reported from the city, a young woman committed suicide due to the continuous harassment of her former lover, even after her marriage.

Divyajyoti (19) is the victim who killed herself in the incident. She is a resident of Madikeri Dairy Farm and had married Brijesh without the knowledge of her parents.

Before getting secretly married to Brijesh, Divyajyoti in love with a guy called Pawan. As her parents were against her having an affair with Pawan, she had broken up with him. After her breakup with Pawan, she had married Brijesh without informing her parents.

Pawan, who came to know about the secret registered marriage of Divyajyoti, started to harass her. It is alleged that Pawan said to Divyajyoti, "I will not allow you to marry Brijesh. I will see how you are going to live with him after marriage."

Divyajyoti, who could not bear the repeated harassment of Pawan, wrote in the death note that Pawan is torturing her and hung herself.

A case in this regard is registered at the city police station. Both Brijesh and Pawan have been taken into custody.
