Kalaburagi, May 15: Chief minister (CM), Kumaraswamy, said that senior Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, should have become the chief minister in the JD(S) - Congress coalition government in the state. He confessed that he feels that Kharge faced injustice.

Addressing an election meeting for the coalition candidate, Subhash Rathod, at Chincholi town on Tuesday May 14, he said that in his opinion, Kharge, based on his struggles and political experience, should have been made CM long back. "There was flaw in not giving recognition to him. He is a great leader of this region. I request you not to hurt him," he told the people.

Kumaraswamy claimed that Congress leaders had told him that the party high command had decided to make him the CM when forming the coalition government. "If I had inkling about this in advance,I would have got involved with discussions with the Congress high command and convinced them to make Kharge, who has been serving Congress party since the last 50 years, the chief minister of Karnataka," he claimed.
