New Delhi: MPs Nalin, Shobha meet Jaitley over Vijaya Bank merger issue

New Delhi, Jan 8: A delegation of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje and Mumbai MP Gopal Shetty met union minister of finance Arun Jaitley in New Delhi and urged him to review the planned merger of Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda and Dena Bank.

The MPs requested the minister to retain the name of Vijaya Bank after the merger.

The union minister has responded positively to the requests of MPs. It is said that he has assured that the matter will be reviewed.

    Are you guys nuts. I work for bank f baroda. Its a nationalised bank n gujarat has nothing to do with it. Our bank s nit under loss. Vijaya bank is nowhere near bank f baroda. Bank f barodas turnover s 5 times more than vijaya bank. Lol n these guys r on the street lol

    Nalin Ji- Why till now no discussion with Modi Ji and Jaitley Ji regarding completing of pumpwel bridge. You are in power in center also most 5 year and you cannot complete 1 small bridge in mangalore highway. People of Mangalore must think this.

    Dena Bank and Bank of Baroda may object to this as Vijaya Bank is unpopular and losing market share. Bank of Baroda has Gujju management and majority. Dena Bank has enough market share.
