Udupi: Death of Mulky auto driver at Padubidri raises murder suspicion

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 8: Dinesh Sanil Manampady (45), an auto rickshaw driver operating at Mulky, met death under suspicious circumstances at Padubidri on Wednesday November 7. Allegations have surfaced, blaming a lady of causing Dinesh's death.

Reports claim that Dinesh used to call Zeenath, a young lady from Padubidri, often on cellphone and harass here. It is said that to teach him a fitting lesson, she invited him to Padubidri and attacked him on his arrival there.

The attack happened at around 10.30 am on Wednesday near the bus shelter meant for buses bound for Udupi. Zeenath, a resident of Deen Street, Padubidri, and her father Ibrahim reportedly assaulted Dinesh. Thereafter, Dinesh, Zeenath and Ibrahim together were going towards Padubidri police station in an auto rickshaw to file police complaint, when Dinesh complained of vertigo and chest pain. An auto rickshaw driver from Padubidri immediately took him to a private hospital, but he died before medical help could be accorded to him.

Members of Mulky Manampady Auto Rickshaw Union who gathered in front of the police station at Padubidri, urged the police to register murder case. They held protest in front of the station, alleging that Dinesh was murdered. Thereafter, Padubidri station house officer Satish held discussions with the protesters in the presence of Prakash Shetty, Kaup block president of BJP. The police assured to hold impartial and proper probe into the incident.

As Zeenath too complained of dizziness, she was admitted into the district hospital in the city on Wednesday afternoon.

On the basis of complaint made by the younger brother of Dinesh, a complaint in this connection was registered in Padubidri police station. The police in the meanwhile are continuing with their investigation.

Auto drivers and their union becoming one big menace every village , at young age of 20 they take loan from bank and buy auto, instead of doing some productive work like involving in agriculture, horticulture etc , men below 45 shouldn't be given license. vote bank politicians making tents with interlocked land space in government land . Instead pls facilitate young guys getting into soil work which is productive and need of hour.

It would have remained or even ended up as an eve teasing or harassement case. At least the father of the lady should have had the maturity of not taking things to this level. Now one family is suffering the death of a loved one/bread winner and another has to take rounds of jail and courts on murder charges. The police station was just a walking distance away from wher all this happened. Law shouldn't have been taken in hands.

Of course ,Harassing is a big mistake...but murder is a bigger mistake...You can't kill person as you wish.. .Please get justice in a proper and legal way..For that Police dept, Lawyers, Court are there.. Surprised that attackers (Killers) have not been arrested so far despite they beat him in a broad day light in front of public which ultimately caused death..

What auto driver did is completely wrong and what Zeenat and her father did even more wrong. Let me ask Zeenat one question? Don't you have ways to stop such calls? These days most of the women get unwanted calls, whatsapp messages and we ladies have ways to stop them by blocking or once we know the number not answering. If we are Zeenat and if every caller (harasser) we kill, then every day there will be at least 100 deaths in Dakshina Kannada.

Could have made a decent living by riding autorickshaw, he got involved in harassing woman. Now what has happened? Even if his brother goes to police, they will bring out this person's acts and bring more shame to the family.
