Kundapur, Oct 25: In a tragic incident, the body of a high school student was found in a pond near his house on Wednesday, October 24.
The deceased student has been identified as Kiran Shetty (16) son of Gudri, Karkunje resident Rajiv Shetty. He was a student of tenth standard in Nempu school, near Hemmadi. He had gone to school on Tuesday morning but did not return home even after night. The house people, who grew anxious, went searching for him but the boy was nowhere to be found. They resumed their frantic search on Wednesday morning and found his dead body in a pond near their house. It is suspected that he slipped and fell into the pond.
A police case is registered in Kundapur rural police station. He has left behind his father, mother and an elder sister. Police arrived to the spot and conducted investigation.
