Bantwal: 35-year-old man jumps into River Netravati, dies

Bantwal, Sep 22: A man jumped into Netravati River from Brahmarakootlu-Talapady over-bridge and died on Saturday, September 22.

Harish (35) is the person deceased. He was a mason by profession and resided at Brahmarakootlu.

Hundreds of people gathered at the place after they heard about the death. Traffic was affected in the area due to the crowd on the road.

 

Bantwal police arrived at the spot and took up investigations.

Swimmers from Talapady, Mustafa, Saleem, Shahul Hamid, Basheer, M K Haris, Areef, Tajuddin, Anwar K H, helped in retrieving the body from the river.

Reason for the extreme step is not known.

    It is a sad happening in the life and history of a young man. He must have had his own reasons for taking this drastic step. I join several others in offering my condolences to all the family members of the deceased.

    Bantwal police are making the investigations. The cause of the suicide well then be known.
