Doha: Roshan D’Souza to grace MCC Qatar Monti Fest celebration on Sep 14

Doha, Sep 10: Monti Fest, the birthday of Blessed Virgin Mary is one feast which is celebrated with blessing of the new corn and family meal is one of the hallmarks of Mangalurean Catholic community.

Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), the premier forum that unites Mangalureans living in Qatar has been in the forefront of preserving and nourishing culture since its inception in 1992. It is with this motto and with the intention of enhancing fraternal bonds among the Mangalureans, MCC has been celebrating feast of nativity every year with the sharing of new corns, the first fruits of the nature through annual ‘Novem Jevann’.

MCC will be celebrating Monti fest on September 14 at 5.30 pm at the multi-purpose recreation hall, West End Park Stadium, near Grand Mall, Asian Town. The highlight of the evening will be the sharing of the blessed corn ‘Novem’ and partaking in the home-cooked meal, as a family.

Roshan D’Souza, the founder of Humanity Trust (R) Belman, will grace this event as chief guest. He is also a well-known singer, musician, Konkani music composer and compere in and around Mangaluru and Udupi district.

In addition, MCC will also be felicitating outstanding Mangalurean students who have excelled in academic studies, sports and co-curricular activities in the year 2017-18.

MCC has always given a platform for budding artists to showcase their various talents and rising to the occasion, their own talented members will present variety of cultural programmes with songs, dances, skit, jokes, and spot games and entertain all throughout the evening.

MCC extends the invitation to all Mangalureans in Qatar to join the Monti Fest celebration as one family.
